List of BLM Makeup!!

Good Afternoon Freedom Fighters!

I decided to do my best to do a lighter post (if that kind of post is even possible) given how dark it seems right now, so I decided to do a list of companies and individuals that have contributed to Black Lives Matter (BLM.) BLM is NOT a terrorist organization or group. It’s an organization helping to save and fund thousands of young back people’s futures. They only want to make this country, and this world a better, and brighter place without hate and bigotry.

If you want to join the BLM movement, donate, or purchase some of their merchandise, please go to the official BLM website at

The List:

Honest Beauty

Savage X Fenty

Anastasia Beverly Hills

Prabal Gurung

Glow Recipe

Pretty Little Thing

Colourpop Cosmetics

Fashion Nova

Toms Shoes

Collina Strada

Warby Parker

Boy Smells

Gap Inc.

Sunday Riley

For Love & Lemons

Home Depot*

EA Games

Square Enix

Old Navy

UnitedHealth Group

While I was working on this list, I found a few companies that have not only remained silent on the BLM movement but have either continued to support Trump or have reprehensible views. I’ll try to give examples of why people should avoid the following companies when I can.

AT&T-remained a member of ALEC until 2018, two years after their CEO made a speech about stopping White Supremacism during the release of the documentary “13th.”

L’Oréal Paris- The L’Oréal Company fired Trans model Munroe Bergdorf for speaking up about white supremacy then mocked her on Instagram saying her speaking out wasn’t “worth it.”

It was.

It will always be worth it.

Fox Corporation- Despite acting like our allies, for now, I’m not sure we can trust them at all. The number of lies that they’ve been spewing constantly has done nothing but damage us. BIPOC, the LGBTQ+ Community, and other innocent people living in the country trying to just live their lives have been made out to be “thugs” and “criminals” or in more recent history “rioters and looters.”

*Home Depot- Bernie Marcus, one of the founders, donated a nauseating $7 million to Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. He also said he planned to donate to his 2020 run, as well. The good news is that Marcus has retired, and the company says they give no money to any presidential campaigns now. Their executive vice president, Ann-Marie Campbell donated $25 million to minority-owned businesses in grants.

*Walmart- Walmart is possibly the most “reformed” bad guy on this list. They worked with ALEC the most, and together, they created three bills in our country’s legislature. Yes, Walmart has their fingers in our legislature; don’t forget- that’s what ALEC is!

Thanks to Walmart, the “Stand your Ground” Law was enacted. Thanks to this bill, George Zimmerman shot and murdered Trayvon Martin in 2014. George got off with absolutely no punishment and now signs bags Skittles for “fans.” Trayvon was walking home from the store, unarmed, with a bag of skittles and a drink, when he was gunned down by George.

The “Three Strikes & You’re Our” Law was enacted to keep more POCs in prison as long as possible. Public prisons didn’t benefit as much from this law as privatized prisons, whose profits absolutely surged after this bill was introduced. According to this bill, if the “offender” has a violent felony and at least two other previous convictions, they’ll be serving a life sentence no matter what on the “third strike,” or third time in front of the judge is for.

Thanks to the partnership between Walmart and Alec, the “Truth in Sentencing” Law was enacted in 2008 for Washington D.C. and 35/50 of The United States. This bill would see that prisoners would serve a minimum of 85% of their sentence, despite what their crime actually was. This of course only contributed to and worsened the overpopulation problem in the United States prison system. No one seemed to care about this fact, however, because the taxpayer dollars were pouring in due to the amounts of prisoners.

Walmart became known as the largest gun retailer in the entire world thanks to the “Stand Your Ground” Law. While communities largely populated by POC were being destroyed and their people murdered, Walmart was making money hand over fist.

According to Walmart themselves, the company cut ties with Alec in 2012. This is good news, however the Walton family; the founders of Walmart, have continued to donate to the ALEC council, though I can’t find an exact number for how much.

*Amazon- The CEO (and comic book evil tech billionaire) Jeff Bezos has issued several issues in support of Black Lives Matter. The problem with Amazon lies elsewhere in the company. Amazon was accused of promoting discrimination thanks to their home security app called the Ring Doorbell. Along with the Ring Doorbell debacle, the company has also been accused of creating and selling facial recognition programs and products that misidentify Black faces.

The misidentification of Black faces would still not be acceptable were it to be even a fraction of the population, but according to the UK publication The Independent, it isn’t. A disproportionate amount of Black faces is misidentified by the products made by Amazon. This is frightening enough alone, but Amazon sells their faulty products to the police. That’s downright terrifying.

This discovery, along with the rumors that Amazon Prime drivers have to urinate into plastic bottles to keep up with their ridiculously strict schedules is beyond concerning. In the last three financial years, 600 ambulances were called to 14 warehouses in the United States.

Heavily pregnant women are being forced to work while standing. Their requests for temporary transfers are ignored. The jobs that some of these pregnant women are doing involve “bending, stretching and moving a heavy cart, and walking miles” according to an anonymous worker who suffered this exact situation. “After a while, I told them I could not walk so many miles and I could not pick from low locations.  I had a meeting with a safety manager and was also told ‘[it’s] not what you want, it is what we decide.’ “My manager told me that most women are working on picking until their maternity leave. “I know this is true because I saw ladies with huge bumps picking." This is morally wrong and repugnant. I use that word too much, but it’s true once again.
